What We Did: Elaine and I played in this year’s Dove House Golf Tournament with our friends, David and Linda Aho on Friday, August 18 at the Port Ludlow Golf Course. There were almost 100 players that participated. We played a scramble format starting on the 13th hole.
How Did It Go:
The day started with partly sunny skies and finished with some more clouds but the weather was comfortable the whole time. Before the golf started, there were raffles, a silent auction, and a chipping/pitching contest. Lunch was provided in boxes which consisted of turkey sandwiches, chips, granola bars, and a bottle of water.
For the golf competition, the team bought a “Whammie” for hole 13 which allowed us to tee off from 100 yds away instead of the normal tees. We also bought a “Drive” from Nathan the assistant pro on the par 5 which put us 150 yds away from the green instead of the regular 3rd shot to the green. We finished with a 67 and no bogeys with 5 birdies. Mike made a long putt on the last hole for a birdie which was an exciting climax to our fun day of golf.
